Key Stage 3 lesson - Tudor History

Students are given details on the two uprisings of 1536 and then have to put together a News Report on the events. The groups decide the direction and format of the report, however this can easily be adapted to add in more structure if required.

For this lesson to be effective it does require the students to have prior knowledge of the changes to the church pre-1536 and partial knowledge of the dissolution of the monasteries.

Learning Objectives
- How had the Church changed?
- What was the Lincolnshire Rising & Pilgrimage of Grace?
- Why did the uprising happen?
- To what extent was this a serious event?
