This is a lesson designed for GCSE students studying the failures of the League of Nations (with a specific focus on the Manchurian Crisis).
The idea of it is to give the students an opportunity to engage their own learning. After the initial information gathering exercise, there is a video to be played after the carousel activity, to help consolidate the information.
After this, there is an opportunity for students to partake in a debate, in which they would discuss how the League of Nations should react to the invasion of Manchuria.
Following this, there is an extended comprehension task about what the League actually did.
This lesson is not differentiated to the lower levels, for it was designed for a top set GCSE class in which the students would have 2 75 minutes lessons per week.
