The Men Who Built America - Ep 7 & 8 Movie Guide | Worksheet (TV - 2012) is a great resource if you are going to show this video in class. Challenge your students to analyze and compare the way Ford and Rockefeller conducted business and built their companies. Explore the use of patents and how Ford struggled against A.L.A.M. to win the right to product his affordable cars. Evaluate the deal that J.P. Morgan made with Carnegie and consider how these titans turned to philanthropy toward the end of their lives. This resource consists of 11 high-level, short answer and essay questions that will do more than just ask your students to regurgitate information. Episode 8 - The New Machine (watch it on Amazon)
This can be used for ‘When One Ends, Another Begins’, the fourth episode of the TV version as well, which combined the fifth and sixth episodes into one. If you are using this version of the video, use the second time stamp for questions 5 - 9.
