Ppt and activities to help students the importance of evaluating scientific evidence using the MMR studies of Dr Wakefield and Honda. Lots of opportunity for assessment, group work etc. Some resources have been adapted from Upd8 - the news story used in the starter activity is differentiated for lower/higher ability students - this lesson kept a very difficult yr 10 all on task!

This resource is excellent for presenting scientific data and getting learners to critically evaluate it. However, in my opinion, the way in which autism is discussed in the slides is outdated and requires updating. It perpetuates stereotypes, is deficit-based and is not neurodiversity-affirming. Please be aware that it will require some modification before presenting it in a classroom today. Especially if you have neurodivergent learners in your class because there is a chance it may offend.
