The origins of the Republic

This is a lesson on Weimar and Nazi Germany. The lesson focuses on how the impact of WW1 created the Weimar Republic. There is brief information in the power point about WW1. The lesson then requires students to use the textbook to complete a grid on the legacy of the war, the German Revolution, setting up the Weimar Republic and the strengths and weaknesses of the Weimar constitution. There are slides on there with answers, which is great to work through as a class. The lesson also looks at what created the Weimar constitution, with an opportunity to self assess. The lessons finishes with students matching key figures with the role they played in the creation of the Weimar Republic. Again, the answers are on there to go through as a class.
