The Spanish Civil War

This resource in lesson 1 is about Tommy James from Rotherham and why he might have gone to Spain to fight in the International Brigade. There is a word guided reading sheet that goes with this powerpoint.

Lesson 2 looks at his time in Spain and then asks the students to make inferences from his account. The second part of the lesson looks at Guernica and the news report and an edited verson of that report is read by a biographer of the journalist.
