Timbers tools and equipment (AQA)

68 TIMBERS tools and equipment with images and explanation on how they work.

With the possibility of no making in the GCSEs I decided to come up with this resource to help students understand making processes. The document is in a flash cards format. There are 33 pages each with 4 different tools/equipment on there (68 tools in total). It can be printed (after page 3, flipping on the short edge) and laminated to become a resource that can be used for other year groups too. I have also categorised them into areas that AQA use in the exam such as wasting.

It has 68 different tools and equipment and covers what would say is all the tools and equipment for making with timbers. On the back is a description, tips, health and safety and what materials it can be used with. There are some crossovers and overlaps with other materials and some relate to metals.

I am also planning to do ones for the other material areas.

NOTE: This is not to serve in anyway as a health and safety training resource. Any D and T training should be carried out by the teacher in accordance to their school and department’s Health and safety protocols.
