Resources I used for a year 9 lesson on reading materials and using the future tense- based on Unit 1 of Expo 3. I introduced the types of book / magazines using a pile of magazines and books. Pupils translated the future tense sentences using mini whiteboards. Pupils wrote about a future outing with the celebrities I gave them on the 'outing with celeb' cards which I had cut out and laminated. For a plenary I cut up the 'reading materials sentences' and put them in an envelope. We then played a sort of 'pass the parcel' using the mission impossible theme tune (to make it exciting!) and whoever I stopped the song on had to translate the sentence into French out loud while the rest of the class listened and had to work out what the original English sentence said. The 'Beat the Mouse' was used as a starter / refresher activity the following lesson
