A lesson designed for KS4 following the EdExcel 1-9 GCSE within the UK Challenges topic. This lesson focusses on the challenges the UK faces due to climate change. In particular the lesson focusses on how climate change will affect the UK's climate, how this change will affect the UK and the responses to this change. This package includes a PowerPoint presentation, worksheet activities and success criteria to track progress through out the lesson as well as setting strengths and areas for improvement

As you will have noticed, much of this lesson content is actually covered in the weather and climate topic and therefore for our students this lesson was used as more of a re-cap as there was little need to go into further depth, rather just applying the effects and responses of climate change to the UK. Having checked the specification requirements, the following content should be covered in order to meet the requirements for the examination: 1) How climate change will affect the UK's future climate. 2) Impacts on people and the landscape. 3) Local and national scale responses. As you will see from the lesson you have downloaded, all of these requirements have been met and, in my opinion, allowed students to be further challenged through the use of their opinions and justifications.
