Unjumble sentences/poem/story in Irish- activity and assessment

age 7+, 2nd class onwards
This resource contains 39 pages consisting of four activities all relating to the topic Bia. Each activity is in a different colour font to make it easier to see which pages go together. The first 5 blue pages are simple sentences to unjumble. The next 13 black pages are a story. The next 12 pages are questions and answers about liking/not liking/loving/hating foods. The last 9 purple pages are a poem using the phrases I like/don’t like and he/she likes/doesn’t like. This resource can be printed out, laminated, cut up and used for group work. The vocabulary can be used in the initial part of the lesson and this can be used as the main part. Children have to place the words in the correct order. Weaker children could have the easier sentences while stronger children could be given the story or poem. Also with the story, the sentences could be handed out in order and children just have to sequence the story. To make it harder, cut up all of the words and children have to make the sentences and then order the story. This is a great activity for children who are not quick at writing. However you could have an extension activity where children write out some of their sentences.
