The resource is for KS4 students taking the Higher paper.

The ability to use the sine rule, the cosine rule and the formula for the area of triangles is revised.

Students are given several examples of information on a triangle and are asked which rule they can use given the information.

An example of finding angles, lengths and areas in two adjoining triangles is shown. Students are then asked to analyse different examples of two triangles and to determine what can be calculated using the three rules and what must be known to answer questions.

A worksheet of 7 questions finishes the lesson with worked solutions.
