VOCABULARY WARM-UPS for KS1-2 or EAL

A fun set of five warm-up/starter activities to help build knowledge and understanding of 25 interesting words. This resource can be used as a quick starter activity, or stretched out to include dictionary work and discussion.

Each set of 5 words is delivered using two slides. The first slide introduces the words so children can either say or write down definitions. The following slide has a short passage with the 5 words missing, so the class has to ‘fill in the blanks’ - one click on the powerpoint and the correct missing word appears, so no writing is necessary unless you want that!

This is a great way to encourage children to use different words and to learn the meanings of new ones. Ideal for KS1-2 and/or EAL learners of English.
