Vowels Year 1 phonics. Long and short sounds

A quick and easy power point used to teach vowels to year 1 (can also be adapted easily for any other year group or phonics phase.) I have used this in a letters and sounds phonics lesson teaching children both long and short vowel sounds and capital letters. The little you-tube clip attached at the end is also helpful with teaching this (can't take credit for this clip as I didn't create it!) I have also attached a vowel probe I used during the lesson to get the children to apply this knowledge in their reading. I have just used it for the long vowel sound but this can easily be adapted also.
