I made this for my Y9. A set of easily distracted boys who struggle in English.
I started with the PPT to get them thinking of themes then set them on the worksheet-giving them only the time allocated to do as much as they could on a section at a time. Then they fed back their answers while we all annotated the stanza/poem in the anthology.
The table at the end of the worksheet was preparation for an essay:
'How does C Day Lewis use imagery connected to the natural world (and other techniques) to express his feelings about his relationship with his son?
The wording in brackets was aimed at the level 5 group as an extension task.
