If your students need extra help remembering facts about the 50 states as you study US History, here is a supplement that will motivate them to memorize facts for each of the 50 states and DC.

Just set them loose on these puzzles, and watch their interest grow. (Word search puzzles help cement the words in your students’ memory due to the effort and concentration involved in finding and circling them.)

Each state puzzle is in a shape appropriate for one or more of the facts associated with that state. For example, California’s puzzle is in the shape of the front of an old Spanish mission, and Oklahoma’s puzzle is in the shape of the state itself.
