A scheme that focuses on the style and authorial choices in the short story ‘When It Happens’ by Margaret Atwood, one of the chosen short stories in the Cambridge IGCSE.
The scheme includes:

Introduction to Atwood and her style;
Key vocabulary such as ‘fatalism’
How to analyse narrative style
How to explore unreliable narrators such as Mrs Burridge
Practising the creation of thesis statements
Practice essay questions.

This should take about 6 lessons.
