This is a whole class speaking activity in which pupils assume the identity of celebrities and invite each other out (it can be as a date or as friends). The aim is to find the most and least popular celebrities. It is designed to take the embarassment factor away from doing speaking work on the topic of invitations as it is the celebrities who are being rejected; not the pupils. I usually cut out the celeb identities and get pupils to stick them onto themselves. There is a vocab sheet to support those who need it.

fab idea - can't wait to try it
Brilliant saved me a lot of work, thank you very much think the celebrities will make a difficult task more attractive to my reluctant speakers.
