Window on the heart

Scientists have invented a wearable patch that acts like a window into your heart and lets you watch your heart beating. This can help doctors to determine if somebody is at risk of having a heart attack so they can get treatment to prevent it happening.

Do you have a smartwatch that tracks your heart rate? Many people find this useful when exercising to make sure they aren’t pushing themselves too hard, or not hard enough. Now scientists have developed a patch, a bit like plaster the size of a 2 pence coin, that you can wear over your heart. It uses ultrasound to create images of your heart beating.
