This resource contains a FREE presentation based on the concept of using the RUCSAC method to solve worded problems. It contains three challenging questions and breaks them down slide by slide to explain how the students must:
★ Read - read through the questions carefully
★ Understand - what the question is asking
★ Choose - work out which calculation to choose
★ Solve - work out how to find the answer
★ Answer - using the correct calculations
★ Check - using the inverse calculation
This resource was created to teach a Year 5 class but can be easily adapted with easier/harder word questions for other year groups. Enjoy!
