Working Like a Scientist - 10 lesson unit of work (including powerpoints and resources)
I designed and made these resources as an introduction to GCSE Science for the end of year 9 or start of year 10
The idea is to introduce some of the key language and skills needed for GCSE science, so that they can be referred back to during required practical work and built on over time.
The lessons are

1. Variables
2. Equipment and measurements
3. Safety
4. Planning and method writing
   5, 6 and 7 - maths skills, including data handling
   8, 9 - Graphs
5. Equations.

Each lesson can be standalone, but designed to run in series. There are worksheets and other activities.
Whilst I originally designed this for blended learning (partly online) and it worked very well across the ability range with Year 9, it would work even better if taught in a lab with examples of equipment, practicals and perhaps some mini investigations built in.
