Worksheet on Prefixes (Dis-, Mis-, In-)

This prefixes differentiated worksheet is in line with the Year 3 National Curriculum, increasing in difficulty with every section.

The first few pages introduce each prefix, including the complexities of the ‘in-’ prefix (im-, in- and ir- exceptions) with plenty of examples.

It then moves on to an independent exercise to test your students’ comfort with these new rules which can also be adapted into a dictionary exercise.

The workbook ends with an interactive comprehension exercise in which students should be able to circle the correct prefixes included in the passage. There are some high level words included in the passage which students should be encouraged to either discuss with their tables to work out the meanings or get out their dictionaries!
