A three day maths plan linked to the 2008 world cup. could be adapted to future football events. This really got the children enthused and I used lots of other resources found on TES. It is linked to the New Framework and was used with my Year 4/5 class. I had lots of more able children, so it could also be used and adapted for a Year 6 class too. Topics also included: using and applying number.
