An interactive power point, accompanying writing frame and hand-out to support the analysis of “Big Self Portrait” by Chuck Close.
The activity breaks the analysis into the four steps: description, analysis, interpretation and judgment in a whole class oracy task ( could be printed for individuals). This supports students in thinking about and applying a comprehensive criticism of a work of art that can also be applied to other artists and their own work.
There is also a slide on art criticism and employability, and a comprehensive writing frame that can be bought separately from my shop.
