Writing Word and Phrase Bank / Desk Mat for KS3 and KS4 English

I developed this word bank to give kids easy access to the kind of vocabulary they need to produce extended pieces of writing for discursive essays or analytical writing or anything in between.

Print in colour, blow up to A3, laminate and stick on all desks in your English classroom. With a bit of modelling on your part, you should find that quite quickly, your students will become more confident in producing extended written responses for the reading and writing disciplines. Eventually, you will be able to remove the wordbank and the kids will be able to apply the vocab without the actual resource, just like in an exam situation.

I’ve attempted to differentiate, as you will see. It comes in PP format and is adaptable to different abilities and different subjects.
