This unit of work teaches students about WW1 by following along the text Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo. Half term 1 looks at the text in depth and studies it alongside learning about WW1. Half term 2 looks at poetry techniques and culminates in the children writing their own WW1 poems to be performed or videoed.
