WWI Introduction Tasks - Ideal Cover Lesson

This is booklet which is introduces the First World War. It gives the context of 1914, an overview of the reasons, a brief summary of the alliances (including a map to shade) and an introduction to Propaganda.

The sheet contains reading tasks and comprehension questions, as well as extension tasks for students who need further challenge.

This was designed to be a cover lesson for a Y8 class who are moving on to the topic of WW1 soon. I didn’t want them to start detailed content learning in a cover lesson, so this was supposed to be a soft introduction. It is easy to follow for a cover teacher.
