This is made for the new Y312 Popular Culture and the Witch craze of the 16th and 17th Centuries new specification for OCR A Level. You will need access to the Access to History textbook for this lesson.
Pupils start by looking at a source which describes torture, and are asked to identify the methods used or the outcome.
A definition is then given, alongside the rules of torture, with plenty of room for discussion points.
Pupils then identify types of torture from pictures.
Pupils then use this knowledge, alongside the various textbook pages (identified in the powerpoint) if needed, to complete a cross word based on the different types of torture used (answer is included).
