This comprehensive scheme is aimed at a Year 9 HA class focusing on studying 2 short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle (The Speckled Band and The Red Headed League) and 2 stories by Roald Dahl (Lamb to the Slaughter and 2 lessons on The Landlady).

This SoW is focused on building skills required for the AQA GCSE Language Paper 1 Section A with opportunities to develop retrieval skills, language and structural analysis and evaluative skills whilst exposing students to 19th and 20th Century Fiction.

There are some homework tasks provided which build on skills from certain lessons and all resources are included. WALTs and WILFs are built into every PP and the outcomes are based on the AQA GCSE criteria and stepped at purple, orange and green.

There are differentiated questions provided for the reading element of each lesson and clear guidance on all tasks.
