Year 1 Art unit plan (painting - Impressionism)

Full unit plan (6 1-hour + sessions) covering Year 1 objectives for the National Curriculum for art.

Focus of this unit includes the works of key Impressionist painters (Renoir, Monet, Degas) and exploration of the colour wheel, primary and secondary colours. The children will paint their own snapshots from a key work of Impressionist art, which work as panels and come together to recreate the whole image.

Includes learning objectives, teaching direction and tasks.
