Learning to read clocks and tell the time is an objective that is given only a week or two per school year. Yet this is a life skill that is fundamental to navigating the outside world.
This resource offers daily fluency practise (120 questions) allowing children to retrieve previously learnt objectives (Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction) with a question per day. Questions include reading clocks, identifying days of the weeks and months, and identifying lengths of time. Questions also involve drawing the hands on an analogue clock.
With this layout practitioners can choose to whether to mix up the objectives or work through them in order. Each page contains the same question which can be copied to suit the number of children in the class.
This resource is suitable for Year 1 (Age 5-6) teachers to use with children to tell the time from September or Year 2 (Age 6-7) teachers wishing to revisit the Year 1 objectives.
