Year 2 Dance Scheme of Work - Recycling

A fully comprehensive scheme of work including assessment, live links to You Tube and Spotify playlists, links to supporting videos. All laid out in easy to complete steps, leading pupils on a creative journey which culminates in their own dances for performance.

Scheme of Work Content:
Linking with the NC Programme of Study for Science, Year 2 pupils will look at the different materials, and create a dance inspired by sorting and recycling those different material types.

They will explore how the different joints in the body move, how to perform isolated movements, and get creative by moving into and out of different shapes.

Pupils will be taught a recycling sorting machine dance and develop their own short, contrasting, movement sequences based on the theme. These sequences will be improved by the use of some simple choreographic devices.
