Year 2 Non-fiction elephants/animals unit talk for wiring

A non-fiction unit which includes a talk for writing style powerpoint, highlighting key features children need to include (lists, possessive apostrophe expanded Noun phrases, different sentence types, suffix endings etc - all colour coded) for the KS1 expectations.

Word mats are supplied at the 3 levels to support children’s writing.

Children begin by immitating my version of the elephant piece then they research their own animal, following the structure closely and then writing their own facts under chosen sub-headings but including grammatical features and punctuation etc.
