Year 2 Science Materials Pre / Post Quiz

This assessment sheet is designed to be carried out at the beginning and the end of your Year 2 Science unit on Materials to assess what the children have learnt during the unit. Scores can be compared. The ‘pre quiz’ at the beginning of the unit will give you some understanding of what the children already know before you teach the topic. The results can help you decide on areas that may need more focus, misconceptions that need to be addressed etc. The ‘post quiz’ will hopefully show you how much they have progressed after the taught unit! It is an editable word document over 2 sides of A4. The assessment sheet addresses the 2 main objectives: ‘Identify and compare the suitability of a variety of everyday materials for particular uses’ and ‘find out how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching.’
