A double lesson that focuses on introducing 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication for children in Year 3, using partitioning to support with this. Included is a lesson PowerPoint that includes arithmetic starters, activity task and challenge tasks which both also include answers.
The lessons work on building understanding through multiplying by the ones and then the tens seperately to then add together. This can then be used to build on to written multiplication through one step.
