This lesson covers how the Earth and Moon move in relation to the Sun. Children follow instructions to create a simple model to show this movement. It also includes a quick recall starter activity that allows children to revisit learning about forces (this can be omitted if not wanted).

Depending on how you decide to run the lesson, it could include strong maths links as children will be required to use a ruler and compass to draw shapes with given measurements.

To carry out the lesson activity, you will need coloured card as well as some thicker card, like the type used for cereal boxes and other packaging.
