Year 5 transition - Lion King

Suitable for UKS2 transition day, particularly if you longer than a day with your new class. Children watch clips of The Lion King - Mufasa’s death, leaving home, making new friends, facing his problems etc and construct their own emotions graph (included) to chart the highs and lows of his life. Children then discuss his various coping strategies - healthy and unhealthy alike and which ones worked best. Uses the reading skill of inference as children must infer the feelings of the character each time.
