This scheme of work is an exploration of many types of poems through the ages. Students will study poets such as Zephaniah, Blake, Wordsworth and Shakespeare while learning the basics of poetry analysis. The unit will end with an essay style question based on one of the poems studied. A lesson plan is provided as the last slide of each PowerPoint. Loving these lessons. Just thought I'd leave a note for anyone coming along after me. The first of the two videos embedded in this lesson is no longer available on YouTube, and the title doesn't appear in the slideshow. Fortunately I recognised Sarah Kay, the poet, and from my familiarity with her work I am taking a guess that the poem meant to be featured is 'The Type'. Another recitation of the same poem is still available on YouTube, so I'm swapping it in in my version. Just thought I'd point it out. Thanks very much Lausten's Shop for the brilliant material.
