This workbook has been designed to be used with Year 7 pupils starting their KS3 Geography course. It could also be used as a home learning activity for Year 7 pupils (KS3), or as KS2 transition work prior to them starting at secondary school.
This workbook aims to introduce pupils to the subject, with thought given to what the study of Geography entails as well as the different types of Geography. Activities have been designed to encourage pupils to make links with their prior learning as well as the World around them to recognise the links between these ideas and the subject of Geography. This promotes an initial interest in the subject in addition to a wider understanding of the ways in which Geography links to their lives and the prior learning, thus promoting the importance of the subject in the KS3 curriculum.
The workbook itself is presented in ‘lessons’, with pupils following these to explore what Geography is (lesson 1), the types of Geography (lesson 2), continents and compass points (lesson 3). A second workbook with further lessons is also available in my resources which can be purchased as a bundle.
Within this resource you will get a PDF copy of the workbook and an editable Word Document to adapt to your own needs if necessary.
