An interesting Powerpoint, with cloze procedures, on Islamic views on Wealth and gambling. The issue of whether Muslims should play the National Lottery is a good one. However, I felt uncomfortable with the inclusion of racist headlines from newspapers, from when a Muslim won the Lottery, and imagined how Asian pupils would feel in certain schools when hearing this in a classroom. The phrase 'our foolish Muslim from Blackburn' did not seem appropriate, as this does not reflect the diversity and range of people's culture today and seems to convey that all Muslims should do x and y.
