Naming and plotting coordinates in the positive quadrant
Lesson presentations and activities
A week long unit of work on Coordinates in the first quadrant for my Year 4 class. They found this quite simple: could be extended to more than one quadrant if needed.
Lesson Order:
L1: Reading Coordinates
L2: Plotting Coordinates
L3: Plotting Coordinates
L4: Translating PolygonsReviews

Thank you so much for sharing. Just what I was looking for and well differentiated.
The lesson plan is self explanatory - additional resources needed are 'coins&' - basically a handful of coordinates. I did this as an interview lesson so put a lot of time in the resources (had gold coins in coin bags) but it needn&';t be that fussy. The kids loved the concept of treasure hunting. I did this with year 3 but it could easily be done with year 2.

Thanks a great resource
Coordinate Mini Murder Mystery worksheet involving coordinates in the positive quadrant only. Some reasoning involved. An ideal activity for KS3. Worked well in pairs in my lower level year 7 class.

My (SEND) class were quite unsettled when they arrived but they soon settled and started solving these co-ordinates puzzles. Very good, thanks!

Pupils plot coordinates based on rules. This is effectively graph plotting but without using the formal algebra. The powerpoint is set up in such a way that certain sections should be written on and the worksheet has plenty of questions! If you like this resource then please check out my other stuff on here! :)
EDIT: 1/4/14 Improved the visibility of the gridlines on the sheet.Reviews
