Area under a graph
Lesson presentations and activities
This is something I produced for my top set Year 11s to cover the new GCSE topic of gradients of curves and area under graphs. Included is a PPT that covers several lessons building from general principles, through velocity-time graphs, to gradients of curves and area underneath them. Also included are examples to match the PPT that can be handed to students for annotation and worksheets for each lesson. The velocity-time graph worksheet is an adaptation of one sent to me so not sure of the original author but happy to credit if told. It all finishes with some exam style questions I've written based on sample assessment material from Edexcel.

Awesome resource, thank for sharing. It's quite maths-y, so I adapted it a bit to make it more Physics-based.

Excellent resource, thank you!
A full lesson with related challenging starter, diagnostic questions, exam question and problem solving related questions. Used this to teach my top set year 11 how to find the area under a curve. I also supplemented the lesson with a worksheet that I found on here just for additional practice for any pupils requiring it.
I would recommend printing out the questions so pupils can work more easily with the graphs. Alternatively, some of them can be used as nice practice of drawing quadratic graphs.

Love the problem solving at the end
This has been written for the AQA Linked Pair Pilot - Applications Unit 2. It is about finding gradients at points and areas under curves without calculus. Powerpoint takes students through the process - two of the slides can usefully be printed out as worksheets. Brief notes for usage on each slide.

Great resource
Practice questions, homeworks and assessments
Skills practice for GCSE 9 - 1. Students find the area under six graphs - the first four graphs involve straightforward shapes, the final two graphs require splitting the area into strips and estimating total area using trapeziums. Students are asked to include units to make them think about the outcome of finding areas (ie vertical axis units x horizontal axis units). Answers are included, plus an editable version of this resource.

Great resource for a topic that there isn't a lot out there for.
