Parts of a circle
Lesson presentations and activities
Circle Properties. A single page that you should print out at A4 size. Have the learners in groups. You have the sheet covered at the front of the class. One person from each group comes up and looks at a revealed section for 30 seconds. They then go back to their group who try to recreate the original document on their own paper. The person that went to look cannot draw anything for the next one minute. Then ask for the next person to come up for 30 seconds etc. Can be used to introduce the key words and circle properties or as a revision lesson.

Great resources. Thank you.
A matching activity, which gets pupils to match the diagram, names and definitions of the different parts of a circle. It makes a good starter, plenary or revision activity. There are three sets in the PDF, which will need cutting up. Please let me know what you think.

very good thanks
This is another of my 4 pics 1 word resources that I have created having been inspired by @reflectivemaths and @srcav. The words in this presentation are radius, arc, sector, segment and chord. Good for literacy across the curriculum. I use these with mini whiteboards as a starter activity - students write down the word and their definitions. Diff by revealing/not revealing the letters for each set of 4 pics.

A number of cards with parts of circles on them. Pupils cut out the cards, read the statement and sort into true or false. Pupils then come up with their own definitions of the key parts of a circle.

We don't do a great deal of this sort of thing in maths but this 'missing word' worksheet is just right for this key vocab topic. Thanks.
Good activity to get students to know the names and definitions of the key terms relating to circles. Good for sticking in their books to revise from.
