Lesson presentations and activities
This resource is ideally for GCSE Higher Revision but it can also be altered to be used for KS3. The PowerPoint gives some examples of how to calculate density using the mass and volume. There is also a worksheet with some extension questions relating to density, mass and volume. (The answers are attached too!). This lesson is heavily based around a Grade B.

Dear finbutler999, Thanks a lot for your wonderful resource! Hats off to you for sharing this for FREE! Your worksheet give a clear picture to teacher and students to know the level of understanding of each individual. I also love the peer analysis part! Long live! : )
I nice lesson where pupils are challenged to use cross curricular maths links to find the volumes of objects, including fruits, and thus find their density. Simple plenary of does it float or not based on their calculations. The worksheet is hard work, but as long as pupils stay focused on what they know.

I liked the worksheet although the wedding ring dimensions need correcting, as does the definition of floating in the powerpoint (negative needs removing!).

more of the same, looking forward to using this, questions well pitched. Thank you for sharing
I used this for an observation. This is a grade B/C topic but I wanted to make it more appropriate to a top set year 10 class. This is a differentiated activity. I've included a blank board, one with the answers and one with QR code links to answers. I just got the pupils to check their own answers using ipods but I considered using it as a naughts and crosses or a relay activity too.

Very challenging for students! I love the three levels differentiation.
Clive is having a go at some homework regarding speed, density and population density. As usual with these it is a case of spotting Clive's mistakes, correcting then explaining what he has done wrong. They are designed to create discussion points in class.

The worded questions were a perfect challenge for some of my learners

Great! We came across a density, mass, volume equation in the maths past paper that we are doing so this worksheet gave us some good experience of rearranging equations. Thanks.

There are 6 spiders here: two on speed, two on density, one on population density and one on pressure. This is designed to create discussion as well as offering students the opportunity to practise new skills.

Questions are good and of appropriate challenge but the answer/mark scheme is not reliable. A few errors. e.g. 4b and 5

There a a variety of good resources included in this link, the focus is mainly the volume of cuboids but some of the harder work extends to density and triangular prisms. The assessments are nice as they are differentiated into three levels and all have a clear mark scheme which gives you opportunity to do some peer or self marking. The activity sheets have some good ideas for practical applications including some work with cereal boxes. The overhead slides provide clear examples which would be nice to complete on the interactive board. Thank you for sharing.
