Pythagoras powerpoint. Looking at right angled triangles and Pythagoras' Theorem. Understanding that the theorem relates to the relationship about the areas of squares on each of the sides of a right-angle triangle. There is a Power Point to use as a the teacher's resource and a work sheet with differentiated questions.

Two PPTs looking at Pythagoras' Theorem, moving from finding the hypotenuse to one of the shorter sides and then worded problems. Includes my 'Have I Got Hypotenuse For You&' game.

This resource is for GCSE Higher revision but can be used for KS3. This lesson is about being able to solve real-life problems involving Pythagoras’ Theorem. There are many examples and questions for students to work through on Grade C Pythagoras problems. Also, depending on the ability of your group, there is an extension on using Pythagoras to calculate the area of triangles with some Grade B questions on this.

Very good questions, but could do with an answer sheet.

Good
Practice questions, homeworks and assessments
This is a resource for consolidation of Pythagoras and Trigonometry. Useful as a quick starter or revision exercise, it can also be used to embed learning before tackling more interesting problem solving questions.
The file is a macro enabled worksheet, and you will need to enable macros in excel before it will work, https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/Enable-or-disable-macros-in-Office-documents-7b4fdd2e-174f-47e2-9611-9efe4f860b12
The Menu button allows you to select the question types available, and the Answers button displays the solutions.
Note: The diagrams are *not* to scale!Reviews

Excellent resource that is great for interleaving combinations of sin/cos/tan and Pythagoras together. Promotes students selection the method rather than repetition of the same type of question. Sets them up nicely for problem solving with bearings/area/etc

This is a PowerPoint that I made for a Year7+8 Gifted and Talented Group on 2D Problem Solving involving Pythagoras. I made this ppt. to accompany a booklet that I had produced with aid from the CGP Higher Maths Revision Workbook that could be completed during one of their sessions. I have attached one version of the ppt. with fully annotated solutions as well as one that is completely blank with just the questions with no answers. Part 2 of Q15 is actually a trigonometry problem that I added in to add an extra challenge for the excelling students!
This took an unbelievably long time to produce so I hope it serves its purpose well and feedback would be deeply appreciated.Reviews
