Lesson presentations and activities
Powerpoint, tarsia puzzle and past paper questions for both Higher and Foundation. The powerpoint runs through the basics on both the Casio FX83GT plus and the Sharp EL 520W - including how to reset! Seriously the students loved this lesson! check it out - real basic introduction to using calculators with fun activities. The upside down calculator and birthday task especially!!!!

Just what is needed for a starting task.
Resource written following template in ATM Mathematical Treasure Hunts publication. Activity practises/revises use of power, square root , fraction and bracket buttons on scientific calculator. Rounding to 1 dp is also involved. Cards need printing and sticking up around classroom. Pupils/pairs of pupils are given a starting point then find the six cards that make a cycle.

Practice questions, homeworks and assessments
Shopping activity to get students used to using a calculator to obtain total prices. Give pairs a price list. Cut out & laminate the shopping lists and then students can swap cards once they have completed each one. Please leave a review if you find these resources useful.

Calculator Crossword Use a calculator to work out answers to the following questions and write down the answer as a number next to the question. Then turn your calculator upside down and write down the answer as a word into the crossword grid.
