Probability with Venn diagrams
Lesson presentations and activities
This is a PPT I made to cover the new GCSE topic of Venn diagrams. It goes through set notation and includes a matching activity where students have to try and match the notation to the shaded diagram.
It then goes into finding probabilities for a two-set Venn, including 'given' questions before extending this to three-set Venns, including ones that need to be filled in.
It also has a worksheet to go with it that increases in difficulty, and one of my bonus Throwback Thursdays!Reviews

Excellent resource
Really a Sixth Form S1 lesson on Venn Diagrams with supporting questions and note sheet but the basic principle of Venn Diagrams and the lesson could be watered down for lower school work.

Superb introduction. Massive help.
Starter to check understanding of parts of Venn diagram. Mystery activity in which students use clues to annotate Venn diagram and use it to calculate a probability - works best when cards are cut up in advance. The nrich challenge can be used as an extension activity.

Practice questions, homeworks and assessments
A set of Venn diagram worksheets and a PowerPoint designed to put the 'students into a pit' and to work their own way out while making rapid progress within the lesson.

Echo fdesouza. Using 156 for the extension results in a negative number of visitors, and 256 is the only value between x=0 and x=25 that fits. Author please change this as it will catch out teachers (and students) who haven't read the reviews.
