Business Enterprise project booklet

This is a booklet of tasks I created to run a Business young enterprise event with students in primary school and Y7. It involved students working towards a bake sale, considering all the stages along the way, including branding, marketing, finance etc. There is enough tasks here to complete over a number of lessons.

Hunger Games Literacy Project Book

This is a resource book I designed when working with a small intervention group of students in Y8/9 who needed to accelerate their literacy skills. It’s based upon the Hunger Games film, where each week students watch a small portion of the film and then complete a literacy task based upon this. It’s designed to take 10 weeks/sessions. My students absolutely loved it and once tested again, had demonstrated an improvement in their reading age- a great resource.

Class Rewards Olympics- great behaviour management tool!

This is a great simple way to reward your group and a fantastic behaviour management tool! Each week I give students points for various activities or quizzes throughout the lessons and we record them on this and update the order each week. Students in gold and silver get a reward at the end of term. This is a great way of rewarding students without having to regularly buy prizes. Student love this; works particularly well with competitive boys!
Break even lesson PowerPoint

Break even lesson PowerPoint

(0)
A PowerPoint recapping cashflow and introducing students to the concepts of costs, profit and break even. There is a variety of activities building up students knowledge and a range of tasks for them to complete to ensure they understand all aspects of break even. There’s a GCSE style exam question with scaffolding and structure for peer marking. There is enough content here to cover a few lessons.

GCSE Business franchises full lesson and resources

(0)
My students’ favourite lesson! Included in this download is a detailed PowerPoint explaining the concept of franchises, a video clip, exam questions, and the most fun bit, an activity where students are given a budget and are allowed to set up their own business. They get to build a physical shop (see picture!) going it alone as a sole trader or as a franchise, receiving the full building and equipment they need to create their shop. Once they have built their shops, there is a simulation where scenarios are given and the students record their profits depending if they chose to be a sole trader or a franchise. There is enough materials and resources here to teach this over a number of lessons- is great fun!
