Activities to practice the preterite: Odd-one-out. Tacos. In pairs/groups students have the verbs in the middle and the teacher says a verb in English, they have to highlighted. Use different colours to count the points at the end. Listening and speaking activity. The student with the word START says the first verb in Spanish (example ´comí), the partner needs to find the translation and next to it there is a different verb in Spanish, they read it out and the partner finds the translation. Puntos game. Divide the class in two to play click on the square to reveal the points. @spanish.resources

Game to practise the preterit tense. Students play with another student, each of them have a different colour marker or highlighter. The teacher says a verb in English and the students try to find it and colour the taco. At the end they count how many points they got.

Two tables A and B. Each partner gets a different letter. Partner A starts saying ´comí´ (which is on the ´habla´ column), partner B finds the translation and highlights it (I ate) then says the word next to the answer (habla column) which is ´cantaron´. Then partner A finds the translation until partner B finishes the game.

Place the eggs with the vocabulary around the classroom. Page 1 - empty eggs, vocabulary written with magic pen and the student need the light to read the words. Page 2 - vocabulary in Spanish. Students have 4 stations to complete: Activity 1) go around the classroom and write the vocabulary in Spanish. Activity 2) complete the gaps with the words from activity 1. Activity 3) find the words from activity 1 in the wordsearch. Activity 4) colour in by numbers. Cut the eggs around and folded in half (horizontally) and stick one half of one egg on half of a different egg, at the end all the eggs are stuck together forming a 3D egg.
