This is a lesson on human sexuality, which I produced for the new AQA GCSE RS (9-1). It includes some key questions to get students thinking and also an exam question practice. I hope you find it useful!
A draft Scheme of work for the new AQA 9-1 Religious Studies - Year 10 (3 yr KS4). This is based on three lessons a fortnight, across a 3 year key stage 4. This might be helpful for those trying to navigate through the new specification. This is the Islam section.

This is an assessment that could be used with KS3 students which assesses their knowledge and understanding of the 5 pillars. This can also be used as a way of beginning to break ties with the levels, and rather linking to specific skills based on Bloom's taxonomy, Could also be used to self or peer assess. Please rate and leave feedback. Many thanks :)
This is a lesson for KS3 RE, and it is aimed at trying to encourage independent learning. This is an interactive lessons, in which discussion are had about Jesus' ancestors and where in the world he came from, as well as introducing students to the concept of a 'prophecy' and the prophecies of Jesus' birth. Students then have to read 2 accounts of Jesus' birth from the gospels, and compare and contrast them using a Venn diagram to record their ideas. There is also an evaluation question about whether Christmas has lost it's real meaning. Please rate and leave feedback :) Many thanks.
This is a PowerPoint which can be used in GCSE RS, when looking at the equality and roles of men and women within the Christian Church. This lesson looks at the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, and examines the reasons why some people argue that women cannot be priests. It also looks at conflicting views which argue that women can fulfil the role of a priest just as well as a man. There is a clip from the Vicar of Dibley (the arrival of Geraldine) from YouTube to spark discussion about the stereotypical views of priests, as well as a clip from the BBC which addresses the arguments for and against women as priests. There is also a 12 mark exam style question for students to grapple with as a plenary. NOTE: videos are hyperlinked into the pictures in the slides. Please rate and leave feedback :) Many thanks.
This is a PowerPoint for use in a GCSE RS lesson, specifically about euthanasia. We follow (at the moment) OCR GCSE RS Spec B, but this could be used with any specification which involves the study of ethics within medicine. This PowerPoint includes interactive discussions, 3 video clips to spark discussion and debate (see 'notes' section of each slide), and an exam style question - which is then broken down into a WAGOLL and highlighted into PEE (Point, Evidence, Explanation). Please create and leave feedback :) Many thanks.
This is a PowerPoint which directs students to undertake a carousel activity. The objectives for the lesson have been broken down into target levels, following the new 1-9 GCSE system. The worksheets have on them the Bible stories of 7 key events in Jesus' life: Jesus is lost in the temple, Jesus is tempted, The triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus calms a storm, Jesus' baptism, The wedding at Canaa, and The Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. Students have to work their way around each story, read it, summarise it, and then answer one of 2 evaluation questions about the significance of that event in Jesus' life. The conclusion activity involves a diamond 9 exercise, and an exam style evaluation question - which is broken down into helpful sentence starters and structure. One of the slides refers to a 'sheet', but you can just ask students to make notes in their exercise books. Please comment and leave feedback :)
This is a PowerPoint lesson which can be used as part of the medical ethics unit of OCR GCSE RS (specification B), or any specification which involves students needing to look at the different types of cloning, and the Christian responses to cloning. There is also a list of key questions which can be pinned around the room, and students are required to respond to each issues by writing their thoughts and opinions around it. Please rate, and leave feedback. Many thanks!
This is a complete PowerPoint for two - three lessons. It works through relative and absolute pacifism; the costs of war; the Quaker attitude; Was Jesus a pacifist?; a Gandhi research task and a homework, as well as an assessment question. This can be used with KS4 or even KS3, with a few tweaks.

This has been developed using Mike Gershon's Stretch & Challenge toolkit as inspiration! This has been created as a resource that can be laminated and then put into a box, which students can then choose from when they need stretching in Ethics & Philosophy, but can be adapted for different subjects.
A PowerPoint containing the history, meaning of and importance of the Eucharist for CATHOLICS. This is specifically made for the Catholic curriculum and focuses on Catholic teachings based on the theological roots of Communion. I use this with my top set Year 8s but this could easily be transferred to Y9 and KS4.
A PowerPoint based on the core Christian beliefs and a useful introduction into the history of Christianity. Linking the Creed to the Trinity in Christianity and the historical context of the Christian beliefs. Please comment :)
An introductory lesson to Religion, peace and conflict. This PowerPoint includes various activities designed to engage students and get them thinking about what causes war and how far religion plays a part in this. A lesson plan and worksheet is also attached. Please comment :)
This is a PowerPoint presentation to teach students about the papacy and the process of papal elections. I made this in response to some questions from my year 7's and thought it would tie in nicely with what&'s happening in the Catholic Church at the moment. This would also be useful for Christianity modules and, in particular, when studying Catholicism. Please leave feedback so I can improve my resources. Thank you :)
A PowerPoint slide for the unanswered prayers, non-belief in God and the Christian response topic within Edexcel's Unit 2: Believing in God module. Also includes a link to a Bruce Almighty clip and has accompanying differentiated handout for SEN students. Please leave feedback to help me develop my resources further as I have lots to share :)
