This is not a presentation in the traditional sense! It is an opportunity for members of your class to work independently at a computer, search for the hyperlinks on the image and research information about Henry VIII and answer the questions in the multiple choice quiz.
I made this to encourage students to work independently. It works like a mini website and they enjoyed trying to find all 10 hyperlinks that are hidden in the picture.
Of course it's much safer than a website and you can assess their research with the quiz.
The image of Henry with dots on is just to you where the hyperlinks are! Students don't see this!
This creative project teaches students about Pointillism, Seurat and colour mixing. It is flexible in length and could be completed as quickly as 1hr 20 mins. If students draw their own Eiffel Tower, or if you include some of the suggestions on the end of the lesson plan, it would be 2 to 3 hrs.
It starts with Students looking at a PowerPoint on Pointillism focusing on Seurat. (9 slides) It includes a script and looks at:
A definition for Pointillism
Seurat & Signac
How the Impressionists influenced them.
Two of Seurats paintings in detail.
Pablo Jurado Ruiz, a contemporary artists who used pointillism today.
How to mix colours using Pointillism.
There is then a worksheet where students can practice mixing colors with dots. This is an attractive worksheet which would look great in a sketchbook or as a display.
Students are then asked to recreate Seurat’s Eiffel Tower. More able pupils will draw the Eiffel Tower. Less able, or younger students, will place their dots over the faint image of the Eiffel Tower.
An extension task is suggested as well as other ideas to extend the project e.g. finding France on a world map and Paris on a France map.
I am always looking to improve my resources, so if you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments box.
POINTILLISM SEURAT'S HATS
A fun worksheet to practice mixing colours with dots. Created because of all the hats in Seurat's work.
SEURAT POINTILLISM UMBRELLA
A worksheet for students to practice mixing colours using pointillism. Inspired by all the umbrellas in Seurat's painting 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte'.

Teach colours, months and days of the week with this exciting, interactive bundle. This range of different ideas and resources will engage different types of learners.
DAYS OF THE WEEK
There are four resources within this presentation!
1. Learn and Test the Days of the Week in French (Slide 3).
Use as whole class work, where together you go through the days of the week, working on pronunciation. Each time you click the French word will appear next to the English. Initially you can click so they are reading it but then work up to clicking after they have said it. Stretch the more able: Invite students to have a go on their own in front of their peers if they feel confident enough. Alternatively pair a student with good pronunciation to work with a student with weaker pronunciation to work at the computer together.
2. Match the Days of the Week in French to English Using slide 4
Matching activity. Print as many times as you wish, laminate, and create sets of cards for matching the English to the French.
3. Show the French - Do they Know the English? Slides 5 – 11
This is an alternative activity where you show your students the French and they have to remember the English. At the press of a button the English flies onto the screen. This could also be printed as an alternative display.
4. Slides 13 – 19 A bright and colourful display for your classroom.
MONTHS OF THE YEAR
4 Resources!
1. A clever PowerPoint where you can click on the different months of the year on the first slide and it jumps to a slide with that month in French. Great for whole class learning or for individuals or pairs to work at the computer.
2. A second interactive PowerPoint where, as a class you read through the months of the year as they appear on screen, to practice and become confident with pronunciation.
3. A display of the months of the year in French - just print slides 18 - 29.
4. The PDF is a sorting activity. Print, laminate and cut up the months of the year in French and English and ask your student to match them.
COLOURS
There are three activities and a display in this resource.
In the PowerPoint there is an interactive slide where anywhere you click on the colour wheel, or on the circles of colour, it takes you to a slide with that word in French. Work as a class or group, or set an individual or pair working at the computer.
Also in the PowerPoint is a display of 10 colours in French. Just press print!
There are two PDFs.
One is a sorting activity. Print, laminate and cut up the words so your classes can sort and learn.
The second are the French colour words for colouring in.
Just added! A 13th resource!!! Three word searches on one sheet. You guessed it - colours, days of the week and months.
Suitable for Primary School or Year 7.
